after re-launching touchin bass with two killer eps from quinoline yellow and plaster, we are now celebrating 12 fine years by bringing you an 11 track compilation featuring tracks from some old friends of the label as well as introductions to some new. this compilation *present tense* sets out to recapture some of the essence of the past but also launches you into the future with some innovative and talented artists from all around the globe.

after three quality releases, woods n bass records vinyl-only series receives the labels mastermind merino, to deliver his first 12 on his own imprint. the colombian dj and producer presents four cuts of melodic but yet killer techno, and in which medula, the title track, offers you a space riff of detroit sounds that will fill any dancefloor, making it a great secret weapon for any dj to pull out at the right moment. better watch out for this one, south american techno at its best.

ol aka oleg buyanov is well known in his native russia already. he has a background extending from releases on faces records and scuzzy lo-fi hip hop beats on labels like error broadcast, idle and fine grains dating back to 2007. more recently though he has been increasingly turned on by dance floor focussed sounds and as such, here come two missives on russias capital bass (which also hosts a popular bass and garage night in moscow and has done since 2006).

for those of you who dont already know, plaster is an electronic music project born in rome in 2008 and comprised of gianclaudio hashem moniri and giuseppe carlini, best known for their works on german label stroboscopic artefacts, berlin-based unoiki and ukraine-based label kvitnu...
now the italian duo find themselves in london, joining forces with touchin bass to weave together a damn fine four track ep which aims to mix a combination of styles from downtempo, dark, brooding beats to more compelling rhythms which have the capacity to make you dance... plasters sound is impressively textured with rich eclectic tones. it is simple but effective, showing different emotions, tempos and styles.
look no further... this ep will draw you in, chew you up and spit you out, but you will be all the better for it.

the b-side goes even deeper with blackstreet sampling number u ve got your pr0blems. starting off with the smooth disco beat, little guitar and that catchy male vocal the track changes halfway with addition of funky acid squelches and 4x4 house beat that makes you realize you really, really want to stay at the dancefloor.

williams plot returns from his extended period in the wilderness to realign his priorities and interject some overdue music back into the public domain. he delivers his eighth release, palisade mount under his quinoline yellow moniker for touchin bass. expect twenty-five minutes of archetypal hill jogging beats and cawl-fuelled melodic sustenance. open wide!
